The Banyan Literary & Arts Magazine
There are presently no open calls for submissions.
The Banyan Literary & Arts Magazine showcases original creative work by home educated students living in the state of Florida, aged 6 through 18.
There are over 100,000 homeschoolers in Florida, representing the rich cultural, intellectual, religious, political, and educational diversity of Florida. The Banyan aims to cover the entire community of homeschoolers and provide a place where our students' creativity can shine. Thank you for your interest in our project and please share it with your community!
We currently have extra space for more writing submissions in our Fall 2016 issue! We are no longer accepting artwork or photography for the Fall Issue. The final deadline for writing to be considered for the Fall Issue is Sept. 1, 2016.
A submission fee of $10 applies. The submission fee helps cover the cost of printing the magazine and the cost of the online submission manager.
All submissions will receive a copy of the Fall issue of The Banyan, to be published in September 2016.
Eligibility:
We only accept submissions from students currently enrolled as home schooled students through their county in Florida, as per FL State Statute 1002.41, or via a private "umbrella" school. If your work is selected to appear in The Banyan we will require the parent or guardian to furnish proof of homeschool status (i.e. letter of intent, recent portfolio evaluation, or verification from your umbrella school).
